2 weeks after google onsite interview
The days following your interview seem to creep by one hour at a time, so a week can feel like an eternity. Before you rush to judgment about not hearing from the recruiter or hiring manager, consider the reasons a decision may have been delayed.
At this point, if you haven't followed up at all with a thank-you note, dispatch one right away. It's proper etiquette, and it gently nudges the interviewer with a reminder that you're awaiting a response from the company.
There may have been a better-than-expected response to the job posting and, thus, more applicants to screen and interview than the recruiter anticipated. This is a logical reason, particularly if labor market conditions indicate high unemployment, where there are scores of job seekers looking for work. Other possible processing delays could include the position being very desirable, or the company being highly respected in the industry, which could cause an overabundance of applicants.
Business demand could have an impact on the recruitment and selection process. Employers don't always make hiring their first priority, especially if another employee is covering the job duties until the company can get around to hiring a replacement. Also, if the company is experiencing a surge in business and just doesn't have the time to devote to its recruitment and selection activities, that can cause interviewing and selecting final candidates to be pushed to the back burner.
Judge whether you should follow up with questions about your interview results based on comments the hiring manager may have made about how quickly the company wants to fill the position. Panel interviews are difficult to coordinate, depending on the schedules and number of people who participate. If the panel members are expected to convene again to discuss the candidates' interview responses, scheduling another meeting can be equally difficult.
Holiday and vacation schedules, as well as other work obligations, can impact the availability of panel members to reach their decisions on which candidates to select. If you were interviewed by a panel, be mindful of the time it could take for a group of four to six interviewers to evaluate their perceptions and discuss the direction they want to go with candidates. A week might not be enough time within which to accomplish this task. Depending on the type of position and the circumstances, funding could have an impact on how quickly the HR department or the hiring manager makes a decision.
The company could be waiting for budget or staffing approval to add a new position; the delay could be due to funding contingent on the award of a grant; or the hiring manager might be waiting to hear from the CEO to find out what candidate she thinks is the best fit. Counting the days until you hear about your interview can keep you from devoting your attention and focus on pursuing other employment opportunities. However, if the interviewer said you would get an answer within a week, it's entirely appropriate to follow up on the day after the week is complete.
For example, if you interview on a Monday and the interviewer says a decision will be made within a week, extend the courtesy of another business day and call on the following Tuesday morning. Practice restraint and don't call everyday until you get an answer. Give the interviewer enough time to get back to you. While waiting for the recruiters response, I also scoured blind, quora, glassdoor, the dark web, etc to gain any insight into timing. Several things to consider: 1. Recruiters evaluate candidate scores from interview. This can add more time. It took me 2 weeks to hear back. I interviewed on a Monday, sent a thank you email to recruiter Wednesday, received your welcome email Friday, got email following Wednesday recruiter was submitting me to HC, and Friday got word I was approved.
Paradoxically speaking, the longer the wait, the better. Good luck mate! Mar 20, 4 1. I heard within a week, and it was a reject. You probably had better results. Mar 20, 0 1.

No response at all … as the waiting game goes on for what seems like forever. There you are, still waiting weeks after your initial interview. Hoping and gnashing your teeth — and maybe just a little spontaneous wall-climbing.
The thing is that no one warns you about this. I once had a group phone interview with a major university for an IT internal consulting job that seemed like an ideal fit.Wrf v4 user guide
And I had the pleasure of waiting well over two months without any feedback at all. So I just waited. The interview had gone very well or so it seemed to meand the rest was up to them.40 ft attic truss
Plus, I was busily involved in a project at a local university, and so time flew by quickly. Finally, after two months, I realized how much time had passed, and emailed one of the people I had connected to most in the conference call interview.
I heard back almost immediately, with ample apologies. Seems I was the top candidate after alland they just were having some trouble getting all the things in place so they could fly me there for an all-day interview. A nice surprise. This really is how it works sometimes. They want to have things ready for the next step.
First, if you are going through this, my heart goes out to you. I know I took it casually in my own experience, but then I already had work I enjoyed and had a paycheck coming in. This was just a chance for a new challenge that I wanted to pursue.
For many of you, getting a job now is foremost in your minds. Still, the attitude I had still applies. The frustrating truth is that there is no rule about how how quickly you will get a job offer after a great interview. Sometimes, job seekers will get an offer within a few hours. The truth is so much more straightforward than that, and once you get, everything will make sense. Or that's my hope, anyway. Here's how the process works at Google for software engineers.
We'll look at this from the interviewer's side and from the recruiter's side. Note that no one here has told them what to ask, or given them a list of potential questions, or asked them to focus on a particular topic.Ulala class guide
Think about this. There is no system. Phone interviews will generally focus slightly less on coding, though there is still coding. Non-web based companies aren't likely to ask about scalability, unless it's relevant for their team.
And some companies have a slight preference towards certain topics, such as Amazon's focus on object-oriented design. Ideally, your recruiter wants to usher you through the process efficiently.
If you are going to get you an offer, they want to tell you as quickly as possible. More often than not, it's just that stuff came up that has nothing to do with the other person. See above. Do most other candidates make that mistake or similar mistakes? The fact that it's a Microsoft interviewor that it's a phone interview, is mostly irrelevant. Look at software engineering interview questions.
If there are particularly points of knowledge you're struggling with e. You shouldn't worry too much about who is giving the interview. This is sort of like asking how long you have to solve a math problem. Arithmetic problems are solvable in seconds, basic calculus problems in minutes, and complex theory in hours, weeks, or even years. When my buddy interviewed with Apple, he was asked to solve 3 questions in 30 minutes. I didn't even finish one problem in that amount of time.
Do I have any chance? My imaginary 10 year old niece solved 5 math problems in only 10 minutes, while my math professor has been working on this other math problem for a year now.
My imaginary niece, therefore, is smarter than my math teacher. Unless you and your friend were asked the same interview questions, you really can't conclude anything from your experiences. My friend heard back from Google the day after his interview, but it's been five days and I haven't heard a word.
Is this just Google's way of rejecting me?

I am an experienced candidate. Will I held to the same standards and asked the same kinds of questions? More or less, yes. The slightly unfortunate reality is that interviewers tend to repeat their favorite questions across candidates, so, all else being equal, someone with 30 years or experience will probably be asked the same things as a recent graduate. There are two types of interviews in our hiring process.
